What this guide is (and is not)
Device Manager → Ethernet → Power Management → “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” belongs in earnapp-windows-nic-power-saving-europe-2026. That page is the PCI checkbox that can disable the whole NIC. This page is the Ethernet Advanced tab: Energy-Efficient Ethernet, Green Ethernet, IEEE 802.3az, or EEE — Enabled versus Disabled. The adapter stays enumerated; the MAC does not rotate; the Wi‑Fi radio is not involved. Wi‑Fi Advanced Power Saving Mode / 802.11 Power Save belongs in earnapp-windows-wifi-power-saving-mode-europe-2026. USB dongles that vanish via selective suspend belong in earnapp-windows-usb-selective-suspend-europe-2026. Random hardware addresses belong in earnapp-windows-wifi-random-mac-europe-2026. Metered / Data saver belongs in earnapp-windows-metered-connection-europe-2026. PC sleep and lid-close belong in always-on-pc-earnapp-setup-europe-2026. Energy Saver, Efficiency mode, Fast startup, reboot autostart, SmartScreen, new-PC, offline/$0 and first PayPal have their own pages. Here the Ethernet PHY was napping while the rest of the box stayed on.
RefDeal will not invent a “Green Ethernet promo,” an Intel I225 coupon, or an EU payout minimum copied from a 2023 screenshot. Energy-Efficient Ethernet is an OEM wired-NIC property. EarnApp is a Bright Data client that needs a live, recognisably residential session. Install from the tracked invite, then Disable EEE on the one spare always-on PC — or leave a laptop you carry on battery defaults and do not farm it.
Confirm it is 802.3az, not the PCI checkbox or a sleepy Wi‑Fi radio
A sleepy 802.3az PHY is not a missing EarnApp promo code.
- If the adapter is USB and disappears from Device Manager overnight, use the USB selective-suspend guide first. This page assumes the Ethernet NIC stays enumerated
- If you are on Wi‑Fi only, use the Wi‑Fi Power Saving Mode guide. Energy-Efficient Ethernet is a wired PHY feature. Do not hunt 802.3az on a wireless adapter
- Device Manager → Network adapters → Ethernet (Intel I2xx / Realtek / Killer / Realtek Gaming) → Properties → Advanced. Look for Energy-Efficient Ethernet, Green Ethernet, IEEE 802.3az, EEE, or Energy Efficient Ethernet. Enabled / On means you belong here
- A useful test: lid open on AC, note the tray, wait through a quiet night. Event Viewer e1dexpress / RtEthnd / NDIS may log link flaps while you slept. Ping from a phone can still reply after the PHY wakes. That is not EarnApp “needing a promo”
Disable Energy-Efficient Ethernet on the EarnApp box
Do this on the machine that actually runs EarnApp, on the home Ethernet port you intend to keep. Do not fight a work laptop whose MDM forces Green Ethernet, and do not farm a phone hotspot.
- Open /earnapp/ and use the RefDeal tracked invite if the client is not installed yet. The invite attributes a first signup. It does not change Intel or Realtek EEE defaults
- Device Manager → your Ethernet adapter → Properties → Advanced → Energy-Efficient Ethernet / Green Ethernet / IEEE 802.3az → Disabled. Power Management tab → uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” too — that checkbox is the NIC guide; both can be wrong at once. Leave “Energy Efficient Ethernet” Off even if a second property named “Gigabit Lite” or “Green Ethernet (downshift)” exists — disable those downshifts on this box as well
- Best EU path: a spare mini-PC on Ethernet with EEE Off, sleep Never on AC, and Wi‑Fi left unused so you are not mixing 802.11 power save with 802.3az. Hotel portals and café SSIDs are a poor EarnApp path — not a coupon hunt
- Confirm the official tray stays Online through a quiet night. Do not buy a “Green Ethernet unlock ZIP” or a fake Bright Data driver pack.
After the PHY stays awake
Sign in with the same account you intend to keep. Leave the box on AC. Confirm the official tray. Use /earnapp/ if you never started from our tracked invite.
- Tray Online through a quiet week with EEE Disabled: leave it. We will not quote a fake first-day amount. Screenshot your own dashboard if you need a record
- PHY stays up but the tray vanished after Restart: switch to the autostart/reboot guide. Green Ethernet is done
- PHY stays up, tray Online, still $0 after a quiet week with EEE Off, Wi‑Fi Power Saving Mode = Maximum Performance or unused, random MAC Off, USB suspend Off, Ethernet NIC checkbox Off, Energy Saver Off, Efficiency leaf Off, Fast startup Off, and an unmetered home fibre line: switch to the offline/$0 guide (firewall, official binary, Limited)
- Laptops you carry: keep Green Ethernet on battery if you want. EarnApp on a commute dock that naps in Low Power Idle is a poor EU path — plug a spare always-on mini-PC via the tracked invite
What we will not claim
There is no RefDeal EarnApp promo code, no published “EEE Off bonus,” and no honest EU minimum we can paste from a 2023 screenshot. Primary CTA stays the EarnApp offer with our tracked invite. Hub: /guides/bandwidth-safety/. Starter: /en/start/bandwidth/.
