Confirm it is the power-button row, not lid-close, hybrid sleep, or Fast startup
A one-second chassis tap set to Sleep is still an overnight EarnApp killer — not a missing promo code.
- If Settings → System → Power still allows Sleep after a few minutes on AC, fix that first on the always-on guide. A chassis tap is not the idle timer
- If the stall is only when the laptop lid shuts, use the lid-close guide. Both rows live under Choose what the power buttons do. This page is When I press the power button
- If Sleep already starts and the dump is extra-deep, use the hybrid-sleep guide (Allow hybrid sleep). This page stops Sleep from starting on a chassis tap
- If you held the button until Windows shut down, or Fast startup hid the tray until Restart, use the Fast startup guide. A short tap that blanks the box in ~2 seconds is usually Sleep, not Shut down
- Open Control Panel → Hardware and Sound → Power Options → Choose what the power buttons do. Unlock Change settings that are currently unavailable. Note On battery vs Plugged in for When I press the power button. Options typically include Do nothing, Sleep, Hibernate, Shut down, Turn off the display. Desktop Balanced plans often ship Sleep
- Settings → System → Power → Power buttons and lid (wording varies on Windows 11 24H2) is the same policy. Confirm both surfaces. Search “Choose what the power buttons do Windows 11” on Microsoft Learn, not a Telegram “EarnApp powercfg.zip”
Set the power button to Do nothing on the EarnApp box
Do this on the machine that actually runs EarnApp, on the home Ethernet port (or stable home Wi‑Fi) you intend to keep. Do not fight a work laptop whose MDM restores Sleep on the power button, and do not farm a phone hotspot.
- Open /earnapp/ and use the RefDeal tracked invite if the client is not installed yet. The invite attributes a first signup. It does not change the power-button row
- Best EU path: spare Ethernet mini-PC — When I press the power button = Do nothing (plugged in), or Turn off the display if you want a black panel. Sleep after Never. Hibernate after Never. - On battery on a real travel laptop: Sleep on the power button can be reasonable. Farm overnight only on AC with Do nothing (or Turn off the display)
- Tell the household: the chassis button is not “off.” A 4-second hold is still Shutdown. Confirm the official tray stays Online through a quiet night. Do not buy a “power-button unlock pack”
